Ten years ago I met my biological father and found out I have a sister. I was immediately connected with her, and felt a kinship and understanding. We mirror each other’s personality, preferences and skills.

I’m fascinated by the clear expression of common overlapping genes, and because we have not been growing up in the same family, we have not copied each other as siblings typically do.

The more I thought about this, the more convinced I was that only genes could explain our likeness.

This is a story of two sisters, shaped by the same phenotype, not by upbringing. With photography I create our DNA topography.

The project consists of an artist book and images for wall and overhead projector display (see installatoin view).
